Brent LSCB Subgroups

Brent LSCB has several sub groups outlined below. Each LSCB sub-group has a Chair and Vice-Chair and has clear Terms of Reference that are reviewed at least annually.

The Chairs of the sub-groups are all members of the Chairs group which oversees the business plan and ensures links are made, as appropriate, with other sub-groups.

Chairs Group

This group monitors the effective progress of LSCB business and has clear governance arrangements in place to monitor the work being carried out by the appropriate sub groups. This group also considers any significant agency issues that affect Brent LSCB.

Monitoring & Evaluation Sub-Group

This group monitors the effectiveness of what is done to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in Brent. It ensures that a range of agreed audits are conducted and all action plans are monitored.

Child Sexual Exploitation Sub-Group

This group is responsible for developing a partnership approach to combatting Child Sexual Exploitation in Brent.

Learning & Development Sub-Group

This group is responsible for raising awareness of safeguarding and the profile of the Board. It is also responsible for producing and monitoring the multi-agency training programme and LSCB communications.

Policy & Procedures Sub-Group

This group is responsible for developing and reviewing effective inter-agency policy and procedures and making available to all relevant staff.

Serious Case Review Sub-Group

This group considers whether cases meet the criteria set out for Serious Case Reviews. It agrees the most appropriate means of review and oversees the process of these reviews. For more information see the Serious Case Reviews Page

Child Death Overview Panel

The group is responsible for undertaking reviews of child deaths in line with processes set out in Chapter 5 of Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 Guidance. For more information see the Child Death Overview Panel page.

Community Reference Group

This group offers a conduit between the communities of Brent and the Board with the intention of providing the opportunity for the community to contribute to and influence the work of the Board.
