The structure of the LSCB
The LSCB is supported by a number of subgroups that carry out its objectives.
Each sub group has a designated Chair who is also a member of the Board.
The sub groups assist the LSCB to fulfil its statutory duties and meet its objectives by undertaking work for the LSCB.
The membership of the sub groups reflect a range of organisations and community services and include people or organisations with specialist knowledge or contributions in safeguarding children and young people in Brent.

Brent LSCB has a number of sub groups which are outlined below:
- Policies & Procedures Sub Group
The sub group responds to local need and government agenda to develop local policies & procedures that enhance the ability of those working with children and young people in Brent to promote and safeguard their welfare. - Leaning & Development Sub Group
The sub group has responsibility for ensuring that relevant single-agency and inter-agency training on safeguarding and promoting welfare is provided to all staff that work with children and young people in Brent. *Brent LSCB’s muti-agency training programme can be found in the Professionals section on this website. - Monitoring and Evaluation Sub Group
The sub group has responsibility for ensuring that all agencies are safeguarding children effectively by working in partnership. It does this by monitoring performance including developing and carrying out multi-agency audits. - E-Safety Sub Group
The sub group delivers the E-safety strategy. It develops policies and protocols around safe use of the internet and technology and trains and advises schools, practitioners, children, young people, parents and carers how to recognise and deal with the risks associated with the internet. - Safeguarding in Employment Sub Group
The sub group aims to ensure that agencies in the borough have robust recruitment processes in place and protocols for dealing with any allegations made against those working with children and young people in the borough. - Serious Case Review Sub Group
The sub group undertakes reviews of cases where a child has died or been seriously harmed as a result of abuse and there is cause for concern as to the way in which agencies have worked together to safeguard the child. - Child Death Review Panel
The panel collects and analyses information about the deaths of all children in Brent.
