Brent LSCB’s role is to work across all the local agencies that provide services for children and young people.

The main function of the Board is to coordinate the way services are provided to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in the borough and make sure that services are provided to agreed standards.

The Board works to ensure that partners from both the statutory and voluntary sector are working together effectively.

The role of the LSCB includes monitoring services, ensuring appropriate policies, training and information is in place.

It is supported by a number of subgroups that carry out its objectives through the following functions:
• Developing Policies and Procedure and ensuring that practitioners adhere to these local protocols and to the London Child Protection Procedures.
• Providing multi-agency training to all agencies in Brent involved in the services for Children. The training programme can be found in the professionals section.
• Monitoring and Evaluating
• Prevention
• E-Safety
• Safeguarding in Employment
• Conducting Child Death & Serious Case Reviews
